Over the past years, MP2 is one of the most talked-about investment and savings option in the Philippines.
What is PAG-IBIG MP2?
MP2 stands for : Modified Pag-Ibig II Savings Program. Unlike a regular savings account, MP2 allows your money to earn dividends over a five-year period.
It’s a voluntary savings program for members who want to grow their savings beyond their regular Pag-IBIG contributions.
Who can invest in MP2?
You may be qualified if you are :
- An active Pag-IBIG member.
- A former Pag-IBIG member with sufficient contributions.
- A retiree or pensioner who previously contributed to Pag-IBIG.
- A Filipino who has reacquired Philippine citizenship and meets contribution requirements.
STEP 1 : Open a Pag-IBIG MP2 Account.
Before opening an MP2 account, make sure you have an active Pag-IBIG membership. If you’re not yet registered, you can first apply as a Pag-IBIG member through their online registration system.

During your enrollment, you need to provide your membership informations and choose your dividend payout preference.
STEP 2 : MP2 account number.
After successful enrollment, you’ll receive an MP2 account number. You need to keep this number safe because you’ll need it when making future contributions.
STEP 3 : Start investing.
Once your MP2 account number is active, you can immediately start to save.
You can :
- Deposit ₱500 or more
- Contribute monthly
- Deposit quarterly
- Make lump-sum investments
Unlike other savings, MP2 doesn’t require a fixed monthly contribution schedule. You can deposit or contribute if you have extra funds or budget.

How long is your money locked in?
Pag-ibig MP2 has a five years maturity period. This means your money is generally intended to stay invested for 5 years before you can withdraw.
