UnionDigital Bank SSS Microloan : How to Apply and Requirements.

Qualified Social Security System (SSS) members can now apply for the SSS LoanLite microloan through the UnionDigital Bank mobile application, giving members a fully digital option for short-term financial assistance.

The SSS announced on September 8, 2026, that UnionDigital Bank is the first participating financial institution to make the SSS Micro Loan Program available through its digital platform.

The program is designed to provide eligible members with a faster and more convenient way to access short-term credit for immediate needs.

How Much Can You Borrow?

Under SSS LoanLite, qualified members can borrow between ₱1,000 and ₱20,000.

The maximum amount a member can receive depends on the average of their 12 latest Monthly Salary Credits, along with their eligibility under the SSS program.

The available repayment periods are :

  • 15 days
  • 30 days
  • 60 days
  • 90 days

The interest rate is 8% per year, equivalent to approximately 0.67% per month. Members should review the loan disclosure statement for the applicable fees, total amount due and repayment schedule before accepting a loan.

Who Can Apply for the SSS LoanLite?

Members must meet the eligibility requirements under SSS Circular No. 2026-005.

Among the requirements stated by SSS are having at least 36 total contributions, including at least six posted monthly contributions within the 12-month period immediately before the loan application.

Applicants must also have no past-due short-term member loans or active SSS Micro Loan and must maintain an account with the participating financial institution.

Other requirements concerning existing loans, benefit claims and SSS account status also apply.

Members are encouraged to check the complete SSS LoanLite requirements before applying because approval is still subject to verification and the applicable requirements of SSS and the participating financial institution.

How to Apply Through UnionDigital Bank?

The SSS LoanLite application is processed digitally through the UnionDigital Bank mobile application.

According to SSS, the general application process involves :

  1. Open the UnionDigital Bank mobile application.
  2. Select SSS LoanLite or the SSS Micro Loan option.
  3. Enter the required SSS information, including the SS Number.
  4. Check the loan amount and repayment terms available to you.
  5. Select your preferred loan amount and repayment period.
  6. Review the disclosures, terms, conditions, and applicable fees.
  7. Submit the application and wait for processing.

SSS says eligible applications may be processed within minutes, although approval remains subject to verification, system processing and the requirements of SSS and the participating financial institution.

One of the notable features of SSS LoanLite is that it provides qualified private-sector employees with a fully digital application process.

SSS said it is the first SSS loan facility for employed members that allows qualified private-sector employees to apply through a participating financial institution’s mobile application without the employer certification normally required for conventional SSS short-term loans.

This can make the process more convenient for members who need short-term financial assistance.

How Will the Loan Be Paid?

Repayment will generally follow the schedule agreed upon when the loan is approved.

SSS said an Automatic Debit Arrangement (ADA) will serve as the default collection method, with deductions mainly made from the account where the loan proceeds were credited.

The SSS LoanLite program also allows early repayment, although SSS notes that there will be no rebate of interest for early payment.

Members are encouraged to pay on time to maintain good standing and remain eligible for future availment, subject to applicable requirements.

SSS Warns Members About Loan Scams.

SSS also reminded members to be careful when applying for the microloan.

Members should use only the official UnionDigital Bank mobile application when applying for SSS LoanLite. SSS warned members against individuals or third parties claiming that they can process the loan application on their behalf.

Applicants should never provide their account credentials, passwords or other sensitive banking information to unauthorized individuals.

Other Banks Will Also Offer SSS LoanLite.

UnionDigital Bank is currently the first participating financial institution to make SSS LoanLite available through its digital platform.

SSS said it is also working with other participating financial institutions to expand access to the program. Its current LoanLite information page lists RCBC and Land Bank of the Philippines for 2026 Q3 and UnionBank of the Philippines for 2026 Q4, subject to rollout schedules.

A Digital Option for Short-Term Financial Needs.

The SSS LoanLite program gives qualified members another formal financing option for immediate expenses such as emergency needs, medical costs, education, household essentials and small business support.

Through its partnership with UnionDigital Bank, SSS is moving the application process further into digital banking, allowing eligible members to apply without going through the traditional employer certification process required for conventional SSS loans.

Members considering the loan should still compare the total repayment amount with their financial capacity and carefully review all terms and fees before accepting an offer.
