MANILA, Philippines — Several areas in the Philippines are expected to have no face-to-face classes on Thursday, September 10, 2026, as the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat continues to bring heavy rains over parts of Luzon.
As of the latest announcements available, class suspensions have been reported in parts of Pampanga.
Students and parents are advised to continue checking announcements from their local government units and schools because additional suspensions may still be announced.
Updated Suspension List (No Class)
Pampanga
- San Simon – No face-to-face classes for all levels in public and private schools, except Concepcion Integrated School. The suspension is in effect until Friday, September 11.
- Sto. Tomas – No face-to-face classes for all levels in public and private schools. Classes will shift to alternative learning modes, with the suspension continuing until Saturday, September 12.
- Masantol – All levels in public and private schools are suspended, according to the latest class suspension updates.
Benguet
- Kibungan – Day care classes are suspended, unless the suspension is lifted because of improved weather conditions.
The class suspensions are related to the continuing effects of the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, which has been bringing persistent rains to several parts of Luzon.
The weather situation has also caused flooding in some areas, prompting local authorities to prioritize the safety of students, teachers and school personnel.
Parents and students should note that a suspension of face-to-face classes does not always mean that learning activities are completely cancelled.
In areas where alternative learning modes have been ordered, schools may continue lessons through modular, online or other appropriate arrangements.
