Tila laman ng pambabatikos ang PBB Unlimited Big Winner na si Slater Young matapos ang matinding pagbaha sa Cebu noong November 3-4.
Ayon kasi sa mga biktima ng matinding pagbaha dulot ni bagyong Tino, isa ang project ni Slater Young sa Cebu na ‘The Rise at Monterrazas’ o ‘Monterrazas de Cebu’ ang dahilan ng pagbaha.
Marami kasing mga puno ang pinutol para matuloy lang ang high-end real estate condo na ito sa taas mismo ng isang bundok.
Ilang beses na rin ibinida ni Slater ang proyektong ito sa kanyang mga vlogs at ngayon ay napuna at nakakatanggap ng samu’t-saring batikos mula sa mga netizens.
Say ni Jesus Falcis : “Dear Slater Young and DENR, You said you want to make sure your design of Monterrazas: The Rise “to be as sustainable as possible” because you are building on a mountain side.
“Because your videos always claim your projects are environmentally sustainable but there is little explanation or evidence to back up your claims.
“As a Cebuano from my mother’s side, I am concerned by the effects of mountains being built on by property developers. Yes, Monterrazas is not the only one. But you are the noisiest one.
“And lastly to DENR, why are mountainsides cleared and classified for residential purposes of condominium construction anyway?” bahagi ng kanyang pahayag.
Marami naman sa mga netizens ang nagsasabi na malaking epekto talaga sa Cebu ang ipinapatayong proyekto ni Slater dahil sa negative impact nito sa kalikasan.
Isa na rito ang mga sewage issue, weak city planning, climate change, disiplina sa basura at marami pang iba.
